What's new in MS Dynamics CRM 2011


Here are some new features which are available with MS Dynamics CRM 2011 update:
Ø MS Dynamics CRM 2011 includes contextual ribbon interface for improved ease of use and consistency with other Microsoft Office applications.
Ø Role Based forms & Views: We can create multiple forms for each record type so that users only see the data they need to access.
Ø Inline data visualization which help us to quickly create charts that display next to records in a grid.
Ø We can create dashboards with grids, charts which can be easily configured as per each individual’s needs.
Ø Outlook offers deep levels of integration with MS CRM 2011. In 2011 we can use filtering and conditional formatting on CRM data and we can also insert CRM templates into Outlook email messages.
Ø We can setup and associate integrated document libraries of MS Office Sharepoint server 2010 with specific records.
Ø Field-Level Security: We can configure security to a custom field so that only certain users who have access to that field’s data can view or edit data in that field.
Ø With Goal management we can specify the goals that we want individuals or teams to achieve and then we can easily track performance against those defined goals.
Ø We can configure interactive dialogs to guide users from one page to other, by collecting necessary information along the way.
Ø Using solutions we can easily group and bundle customizations, which can be easily transported to different systems. Solutions also help us to prevent other users from modifying its components.
Ø We can create global option sets of values which can be attached to multiple records.
Ø We can create globally available JScripts (Web Resources) that can be accessed from any entity.
Ø MS CRM 2011 includes Azure extensions which help speed development of cloud-based solutions.
Ø We can create our own flexible connections between records.
Ø We can now use Queue Concept for some other entities also, instead of only for Cases. Queues in MS CRM 2011 provide better security options and they can also participate in workflows.
Ø We can access the Dynamics Marketplace (Which is an online catalog of third party solutions that are available for downloading which we can use in our CRM systems) directly from the CRM web interface.
Ø With MS CRM 2011 teams can now the CRM records.
Ø We can enable auditing on a field-by-field basis to capture each change on a record. It also captures the date and time of that change along with old and new values.
Ø We can store HTML, Jscript and SilverLight applications as webresources which can be used in form customizations as well as in the sitemap and application ribbons.
